Dry marble

Hi!

Today's mani is my first try at a dry marble. I like the effect, but it could be better:

Here's what I used:

- Sally Hansen 4-in-1 treatment
- Sally Hansen New Lengths Ceramics - #02 White Tips
- 4 Nail Star Two-Way Nail Art Pen & Brush (purple, white)
- Rimmel Base Coat Top Coat Pro
- a toothpick

I like the effect it's done on my nails, though the toothpick went all the way through to the white base coat for the design. I did try to not press so hard, but it went through no matter what. But I even had compliments about this from a coworker and a lady at the hospital, so I was happy with it.

I think the 4 Nail Star polishes are no good for this type of nail art, though. By the time I was done painting the nail with the alternate colors, it had already started to dry, even if I had put on a lot of polish. Oh well! I will definitely try this again, but with different brand of polishes.

Thanks for coming!

Birthday Nails

Hi!

I turned 25 on the 14th, and in order to cheer myself up ('cause you have no idea how old I feel now that I'm a quarter of a century!), I've decided to make festive nails for the occasion. When  I think birthday, I think fun, I think colorful, I think confetti:

Here's what I used:
- Borghese B310 Bellissima Rose
- Nail Star Two-Way Nail Art Pen & Brush in orange, yellow, lilac, blue, and teal
- Rimmel Base Coat Top Coat Pro
- Dotting tool

It made me smile for a few days, until I removed it for my Harry Potter manicure.

Now, though, my nails are constantly splitting, and it's getting really annoying. I bought another Mavala product, which is suppose to work on that, but I have yet to see some results.

Thanks for coming by!

Blog issues

Hey people!

Sorry if the blog looks a little crooked for now. I'm learning a little bit about modifying my template and HTML codes, and though it looks good on IE, it really doesn't on FF. This will be sorted out by tomorrow, I hope!

Thanks for your understanding!

EDIT 11/25/10 11:39AM --> Well, turns out I suck so much at editing that I'll leave this for another day! I wanted to make up some navigation tabs, but I really don't know how. Well, I found a website that made it look easy but.. Yeah.. 'Nyways! If any of you have any tips, it's always welcomed! ;)

Ciao for now!

Harry Potter Nails

Hi!

I know this is a bit late, since the movie Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows came out last Friday, but here was I was sporting to that event:

Here's what I used:

- Apple Bottoms Gold Mine
- Joe Fig
- Rimme Base Coat Top Coat Pro
- Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Black

Though the idea of putting the snitch on my ring finger is all mine, I have to admit that the rest of the manicure was inspired by Dollface's tutorial for her Griffondor nail art, that you can see by going here: Click! I liked the idea of flickers of red over the gold, and putting out the scar over it was pretty nice too. But I didn't want to make multiple scars, just one on each nails, and I thought black was popping out more.

There you go! Stay tuned for next post, about my birthday nails!

Giant Tiger Haul

Hi guys!

A few weeks ago, I went to Giant Tiger for the first time, and was able to snatch away a few goodies. Since I was in the process of moving, I didn't have time to post this until now. (Side note: I'm now all installed in the new place, so the posts should hopefully be less far between.)

I had never been to a GT before, and though it needs patience to find treasures, you can actually find pretty cool stuff! Here's what I found:

From top to bottom, left to right:
- Apple Bottom polishes
- ELF polishes
- ELF eye shadows
- ELF lipsticks
- Earphones (that turn out to be pretty crappy, and got tossed away after 3 uses max)
- Expression polishes
- ELF liquid liner

Here's for a closer look of each:

From left to right: - Red Delicious - Rock Star - Gold Mine - Club Queen - Paris in Pink - Take me to the Beach

These don't really have names. I know they're kids polishes, but I've tried 2 of these, and they're pretty good so far.

I wasn't one to wear lipstick and eye shadow, but for $6 each, I just had to have them. And I've been using them ever since! :D I really enjoy matching my eyes to my clothes, and doing a little smokey effect. I also never tried liquid liner, and I'm pleasantly surprised with it.

From left to right: - Twinkle - unknown (didn't have a little tag underneath) - Cranberry

So there you have it folks, my little haul at Giant Tiger.

See you next time! :D

It's back!

Hello, people!

Just a quick note to tell you that Viva La Nail is doing the sample promo again, where they send you a sample of their products for free (you only have to pay the shipping), in exchange for a review! I just did, and I'm really excited! I'm in Canada, and the shipping charges turns out to be $4.70, which isn't that bad for almost $20 worth of stuff!

You can order yours too by going here: Click!

On other news, I'm almost done moving and settling to my new place, so I will be able to get back to posting nail arts and reviews. I may even have some time this afternoon to watermark pics and post. ;)

Thanks for coming back, and hope to see you soon!

Multicolor Lines

Hi!

Here's an old manicure that I've done like a month and a half ago. Time flies so fast! I like French manicures, but I like them better when there's a design on the lower part of the nail. Here's what I came up with:

And here's what I used:

In the picture we have:
- Rimmel Base Coat Top Coat Pro
- 4 Nail Star Two-Way Nail Art Pen & Brush (green, glitter green, purple, glitter purple, blue, glitter blue)
- Maybeline Salon Expert #700 Black Is Black

I have a few others that I'd like to show, so I'm up to date with all of my stuff. I'm in the middle of moving to another home, and my posts may be delayed for the next week or so, with the packing and the unpacking and what not.

See ya soon! :D

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear swatches

Hey, y'all! Here are the swatches for my new Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes. 2 pictures (under a different light), taken with a base coat, the colors, no top coat.

Fireberry Red - Such a rich and beautiful red, with a little blue hue. Takes forever to dry, though.. In the picture, there are 3 coats, and I had time to get a 3rd coat on Shooting Star and get that one half dry before I could apply my 3rd coat of Fireberry... It applies unevenly too.. Disappointing, to say the least. But I still very much like the color, so I'm sporting it as a full mani tonight to go see Saw 3D!

Purple Gala - Ouh la la! Shiny, grapy purple that just makes me smile. 2 coats only in the picture, as it applied very well. Takes a little time to dry as well, like 6-7 minutes each coats, and even then, still smudgeable... I will definitely wear this again sometime soon.

Shooting Star - Too sheer for my taste, but still very beautiful. I wonder what it'd look like over another color, like white, or even black. 4 coats in the picture. This one dried faster, I'd say around 4 minutes for each coats. I think I'll try my first gradient experiment with this one. :D I honestly thought it'd be a nightmare to remove, but with a few swipes over the nail, and the skin around, and voilà! Very impressed with this one.

So there you have it, people! See you next time! ;)
