French manis from the vault

Hi guys!

Today, I will present 2 French manicures that I did before Christmas.

This one was taken on August '10, when I had just basically started. I was still testing the Mavala product at this point. Here it is:

What I used:

- Mavala Nail Shield
- Sally Hansen Diamond Strenght
- Sally Hansen New Length Ceramic White Tips
- Nicole Top Coat Plus
- Rhinestones

Then here's another French manicure I did in November '10. I had made it to go to a hockey game, and the Oceanics' color is blue. Here it is:

I used:
- 4 Nail Star Nail Art Pen and Brush in blue
- L.A. Colors Art Deco Silver Glitter
- No sure what I used for base and top coats, though..

And here's another one I made in December '10. Here it is:

My aunt gave me this Rimmel purple polish, but I really have no idea what the name of the color is. It was really hard to work with, as it was really goopy. And I used L.A. Colors Nail Art Silver Glitter to outline the slant.

And here's my attempt at reproducing Tartofraise's corset design:

It was my first attempt at freehanding something with a very thin brush. I liked it! It was made in December as well. I did it for another hockey game, on a weekend getaway, and remembered to take a pic after I came back. I used:
- Rimmel Base Coat Top Coat
- 4 Nail Star Nail Art Pen and Brush in navy and white
- Aldo's Hit The Pavement Perfecto

As always, please forgive the extra dry cuticle. I'm working on it!

Valentine's Day

Hi!


Sorry I've been kinda MIA. I've had a cold from hell, and didn't feel like doing much. I'm feeling much better now, and did my nails to celebrate the holiday of love. 

Here's what I used:

- Rimmel Base Coat Top Coat Plus
- Nailene French Manicure
- Sally Hansen New Lengths Ceramics - #02 White Tips
- L.A. Color Art Deco  Red
- L.A. Color Art Deco Rose
- Seche Vite Top Coat
- dotting tool


What did you do on Valentine's Day? Was it just an ordinary day, or did you do something special? My grandma and my aunt brought me a heart shaped balloon, which was totally unexpected. And my Hun bought me Chinese food, and we watched an old James Bond movie. *sigh* Ah! Love! :D


I don't really like French manicures done with this white. For some reason, it always makes my nails look like they're fake. There's a Sally Beauty Supplies that just opened up in town, and I'm due for a visit. I'm probably gonna buy a new white, and a few other colors. I went once for a quick dip, but I need to go back and really look at all the stuff they have.

Christmas mani

Yes, you read right, it's a Christmas mani! I had first lost my battery charger before New Year's Eve, so my camera wouldn't turn on to take the pictures out, and then I lost my USB cable. I now have bought a new charger (about a week or so ago), and I've found my cable this morning!!


Here's what I was sporting on my nails for the event (sorry for the incredibly dry cuticles):

For this mani, I used:
- 1 coat of Rimmel Base Coat
- 1 coat of Joe Fig
- 1 coat of Apple Bottoms Red Delicious
- water decals from Viva La Nail
- 2 coats of Seche Vite


Now that I have like a month worth of manis to share, I'm hoping to post a little more often. No promises, though, 'cause I'm super tired lately, but will try my best!

Double Wammy!

Good morning!


So incredibly sorry for the lack of update. I could make up excuses, but to tell you the truth, I was really tired from getting back to work and getting back into the routine of things. 


I bought a charger, so now I'll be able to retrieve my pictures! I have a few pictures taken with my iPod, and a few others with my cell, which have a very sad quality picture. I'm gonna upload all of them at the same time either tomorrow or Tuesday.


On to the manicures. Yes, with a "s" at the end: there will be 2 today! I wanna get back into the routines of posting at least once a week.


First: 

What I used:

- Sally Hansen 4-in-1 treatment (absent from photo)
- Color Institute Top Coat
- Sally Hansen New Lengths Ceramics - #02 White Tips
- Color Institute (no name, so  I called it Graphite)


It was the first time I really tried to hand pant something a little harder. I like it, but it has some place for improvement, that's for sure.


Second:

What I used:
(Sorry, no picture of what I used. I most likely forgot about it.)
- Sally Hansen 4-in-1 treatment
- Joe Gunmetal
- Joe matte top coat
- L.A. Colors Art Deco NA903 Silver Glitter

So there you go! I hope I'll get back into your graces! :P But seriously, though, I'm going to try to get a post out each week. Maybe if I use the scheduling function? I don't know. We'll see!

Birthday Nails

Hi!


I turned 25 on the 14th, and in order to cheer myself up ('cause you have no idea how old I feel now that I'm a quarter of a century!), I've decided to make festive nails for the occasion. When  I think birthday, I think fun, I think colorful, I think confetti:

Here's what I used:

- Borghese B310 Bellissima Rose
- Nail Star Two-Way Nail Art Pen & Brush in orange, yellow, lilac, blue, and teal
- Rimmel Base Coat Top Coat Pro
- Dotting tool


It made me smile for a few days, until I removed it for my Harry Potter manicure.


Now, though, my nails are constantly splitting, and it's getting really annoying. I bought another Mavala product, which is suppose to work on that, but I have yet to see some results.

Multicolor Lines

Hi!


Here's an old manicure that I've done like a month and a half ago. Time flies so fast! I like French manicures, but I like them better when there's a design on the lower part of the nail. Here's what I came up with:

And here's what I used:

In the picture we have:
- Rimmel Base Coat Top Coat Pro
- 4 Nail Star Two-Way Nail Art Pen & Brush (green, glitter green, purple, glitter purple, blue, glitter blue)
- Maybeline Salon Expert #700 Black Is Black


I have a few others that I'd like to show, so I'm up to date with all of my stuff. I'm in the middle of moving to another home, and my posts may be delayed for the next week or so, with the packing and the unpacking and what not.

Slanted black French

Yo! 
Today's design is inspired by micky2515's mani on Youtube, that you can watch here: Click! I was ecstatic when a lady at the store noticed my nails and told me they looked good! It was the first time someone had noticed my nails and made a comment about them. Felt great!

For this, I used:
- Sally Hansen 4-in-1 treatment as a base coatf
- The cheap eBay liners in black and white
- Maybeline Salon Expert #700 Black Is Black
- L.A. Colors Art Deco NA903 Silver Glitter
- Nicole by OPI Top Coat Plus

I had waited at least an hour before putting on the top coat, but it still dragged some of the black polish all over the nails.. Oh well.. Now I learned that it can't be trusted for French manis!  

Migraine obliged, I'm gonna stop it here, and go to bed before my head explodes. See you next post! 

French mani, with pink and orange squiggles

For the next few days, I'll post about manicures I did a few weeks before, up until I'm all caught up to my actual mani. So far, I don't have anything on them but the treatment, but I'm planning to do a special one for my Hun's birthday tomorrow!!


This is my first attempt at a French without any guide, just free hand. I wasn't completely satisfied with the way it looked, but as my Hun says:"You gotta start somewhere, punum."

What I used:
- Sally Hansen Miracle Cure (base coat)
- Sally Hansen New Lengths Ceramics - #02 White Tips
- Revlon Glimmer Gloss - #605 Grapefruit Glimmer
- Sally Hansen Maximum Growth - #12 Fearless Fushia
- Wet n Wild Wild Shine - #405 Sunny Side Up
- Rimmel Base Coat Top Coat Pro 







One year, for Christmas, I had received a basic manicure kit, and there was some sort of plastic cuticle stick with a rubber tip. I used the plastic end of it to do the pink and orange squiggles. I used a toothpick for the pink underline of the tip. I have since bought some brushes, to make my life easier! :P


It was the first time I had used Sally Hansen New Lengths Ceramics - #02 White Tips. It's goopy, and thick, and a little hard to apply. Granted, I was trying to free hand the tip, so the application might've been easier had I used a guide.
